Obama is simply not strong enough, influential enough to push through the kind of change he was espousing pre-election. The health reforms are a watered-down waste of time, foreign policy is more of the same and financial 'reform' has just made matters far worse. I voted for Obama because who knows how bad it would have got under McCain/Palin. We will have to wait until the next great hope to make any real change here now, like Medicare for all.
I agree with Rush Limbaugh, I mean Les Gelb. By now, Obama should have pushed meaningful health care reform through an unwilling, corporatist Congress, perpetuated the 'strong' diplomacy of the Bush administration that proved so effective, aligned Asia with the US instead of the Asian power, and brought peace to the middle east after millennia of warfare between Mosaic cults. Come on, Barry, whats the holdup?
