  • Her voice....... oh gods... her voice.....

  • I think that this is lovely, and much better than that who-knows-why over-valued Kirchslager. Thanks for the link!

  • I prefer by far Kirchschlager's version. Semmingsen sings beautifully, but she lacks expressivity, emphasis and dinamics.

  • Musically, just trancendent--but dramatically, it doesn't pack much of a punch.

  • fabulous

  • @compeld2sing I agree. It's such a lovely interpretation. You might wish to listen to Nicholas Spanos's version of this aria for comparison as well. It's lovely too.

  • Gorgeous! I would have put a rider in my contract, though, saying "you must provide me with an inflammable costume" - that was truly frightening to watch her hold that torch-like thing on fire right by her side!

  • That's what I'm thinking after listening to her for two years. Ya, what a voice! Anything she touches becomes gold and diamonds, if you can use that comparison.

  • There is a subtle difference between a good singer and a good opera performer. Good directors know that difference. A good performer gives meaning to every word and feels them with the body. I am afraid Angelika is one of those performers.

  • Tuva Semmingsen does a tremendous job here. I only wish that the orchestra steps up a bit on the tempo. Too slow!
