My future wife and my best friend and his girlfriend sat through the rain and watched this game. We didn't think at the time we would see another Alabama National Champion. Back to Back. Loved it. BAMA shut out LSU the number 3 defense in the country.

i was at this game. it rained the WHOLE game but I proud of LSU for letting them score only 3 points..they were outmatched but fought hard... the rain helped keep the score down but LSU's defense helped too

@MyNephewIsTough Neither. He was an assistant coach at West Virginia in 1979. He didn't coach at LSU until 2000 and Bama in 2007.

I loved Major Ogilvie when I was a kid. I hated he played for Bama but use to love to watch him run. He was as hard nose go to guy that never really got the credit he deserved.
And I'm a LSU fan.... Thanks for posting. I remember listening to this game.
