I agree with everything that is said in this interview except for the comment about defense spending. The fact of the matter is that the United States has troops all over the world. You could argue that withdrawing troops from Iraq or Afghanistan jeopardizes our security (although I don't feel that way), however their are plenty of more peaceful countries where we could withdraw troops.

This is a carefully staged interview by a policy think tank (Hoover) designed to mold your opinion in favor of a laize faire perspective. It has the basic fittings of an objective discussion, however it lacks authenticity for these reasons:

Thomas Sowell - a conservative, is a senior fellow at Hoover Institution. The interviewer is Peter Robinson - a conservative, and a fellow at the Hoover Institution.

This can be best described as a mutual stroking session.
