  • How do you counter this as toss? I can't get enough Phoenix out in time to deal with the mutas and stalkers don't seem to be very effective

  • @marcman000 Guardian shields are crucial against mutas, but more importantly you wanna pressure the zerg before he gets his spire up because that's when he's most vulnerable. Other than that, phoenixes pretty much own mutas, IF you keep microing them. ALWAYS micro them in battle with mutas. If you need a second to macro, just pull your phoenixes back - they move faster than mutas anyway. Plus they auto attack while moving. My point: the mutaling strat is by no means OPed.

  • @RandomChileanGuy Assuming the Zerg player isn't stupid, scouts, and went for a fast Lair, kinda like in this video, then good luck getting enough DT's to do enough damage by the time he can respond. Personally, I find HT's/Psi Storm much harder to deal with especially if I'm going Muta/Ling. Also, if Archons are on the field forget it, Archons will absolutely melt Muta/Ling.

  • @eddiem I play Zerg and this is definitely correct. Nothing hurts a Zerg more than early pressure when he/she is waiting for Spire tech. :(

  • @cjw1010 Oh, and yes, this strat works, but only against certain builds. It isn't unbeatable. But it's GREAT when they go for an early void ray.

  • @cjw1010 Yes, a 4 gate is a different strat. If they 4 gate, you can't go muta. Throw down a roach warren, get a bunch of spine crawlers (if you don't have a big army then get a lot), and spend all of your resources on units. If you're two base with at least 2 geysers being mined, and 1 queen at each hatch, then continually spitting out roaches and lings should win you the game. After you see they've gone 4 gate, as long as you have some economy, no more drones. Only military.

  • does this strat still work? also i was playing earlier and a toss went 4 gate with mass zealot and sentry i tried to get counter with speedlings, and spine crawlers but they destroyed me any advice.

  • This strategy works well for a relatively large map but may not work that well on a smaller map
