Hello, and goodbye. I present myself to you as anonymous for the last time. This final address speaks to anyone who chooses to listen, and I will refrain, no matter how pressed, to produce another.

This is not a hateful forsaking, but rather, a resignation. Having handed myself to the ideals of frivolity, the concept of sanctified existentialism seems ever more appealing in such a miserable world. But I don't concern myself with the matters of God and Man in this statement, but rather, the inevitability of a returning foe. Scientology ruins the lives of its followers and is by no stroke a benevolent entity, but is little more than a returning constant in human history.

Saying this, however, is like analogizing the organization to a tumor found early enough to be treated. This cancerous growth on humanity is fully able to be dealt with, their evils rectified and their foul taint left as nothing more than a paragraph in high school history books. However, it was not the first of its kind, nor will it be the last. Try as I might to avoid Godwin's Law, the comparisons of an organization that enforces labor camps, a private navy, a rule of secular exclusion, and tactics not unlike the SS to the Nazi regime cannot be avoided. Throughout the history of humanity, there have been many great evils, and each fell in time once they overextended their reach. In this society of informational awareness, it is comforting to see such a cancer be caught so early, but I can't help but see its rise and eventual eradication as nothing more than the next turn of the great wheel.

Since the onset of making these videos, I've received multiple private messages asking me for advice, help, and leadership. This seems self-defeating to me, as it seems to completely overlook the point I've been trying to emphasize that anonymous is leaderless, and that I am by no means a spokesperson to be turned to when in need of advice. My opinions and thoughts are just as valid as those of anyone else, and I didn't create these videos for the purpose of being seen as the leader of the organization, which is a farce in and of itself. It seems that humanity is incapable of an autonomous collective, which is why socialism never succeeds. Despite our innate need to rule all we see, we are hypocritically also governed by a need to be issued orders. Leave a group of people to their own devices, they will elect a leader, make a government, and create a god. We seem unable to exist without the guidance of a higher power, which is disheartening. We are not a group calling ourselves anonymous. We are a group united by a goal. This is a point that has been missed so many times it seems to invalidate itself in its own practice.

But I digress. I support the cause of anonymous entirely, but I will no longer show that support in any concrete form. Though your protests and actions have my personal blessings, I have given myself to apathy in the wake of the ever-repeating cycle of time, and there I intend to remain. Where once I thought it amazing to see how people could band together for a common goal, I see now that it's simply history repeating itself yet again, sans the bloodshed of old. Perhaps it is both the dismay that as long as humans exist, terrible people will continue to rise to power, and the happiness that, with every empire formed, it will eventually fall to ruin.

And ruination is, sadly, all we can hope for in this world, as humans are far more wont to destroy than create, and indeed we are far more proficient in the former, if only to make up for our incredible inability to perform the latter. In a world where evolution is $3.50 at a vending machine on the corner, where rocket men focus on the vast expanse of space more than the world below, where all races walk freely across the land, and where the average man contests the secrets of the universe in his spare time, I see the future plainly before me, listening to his Ipod as he walks down the street. This is your Arcadia, your grand divine.

May you find the answers you're looking for, and may you bring an end to the wheel's endless turning.

Until then, drink on, old friend.
