New Ed Saindon Signature Vibe & Marimba mallet by Vic Firth:
The new mallet took well over a year to design, but the mallets are now available. The mallet features a weighted core, four layers of varying latex and tightly wrapped thin yarn. I was looking to create an all purpose mallet for vibes and marimba that sounded good from playing solo to performing with a band. The mallet creates a very big sound, sounds fat and round while still retaining clarity at all dynamic levels. Ed, man. Thank you for all your educational endeavors. I've been struggling to find a systematic approach to guide my playing for a long time. Your work is helping very much. Thank you

@Necrodrumicon Hi, Glad you're enjoying the videos. The goal is to try and use all four mallets when playing lines. Here's an example. For the first five notes of a Bb scale we could use this sticking: Bb - mallet 4, C and D - mallet 2, Eb - mallet 3, F - mallet 1. The mallets are numbered from your left to right: 4, 3, 2, 1. Also, try experimenting with different striking areas of the bar which will allow the mallets to get out ot the way of each other. I hope that helps a bit.
