  • I LOVE your smile.

  • @HellYeahhhhhh

    Thank you!

  • Sorry to keep chiming in but this is so interesting. To your point about people wanting to say what they want despite hurting people is just a lack of respect for common civility. People try to justify this tacky, bad behavior by calling it "Keeping it Real!!" MLK was keeping it real. Obama is keeping it real, the folks fighting for freedom in the middle east are keeping it real. Not some bone head running around with ignorant diarhea of the mouth. it's time people learn the difference!

  • @iamsillywarm

THANK YOU! Since when did "keepin' it real" equate to acting like a jerk?! I can't stand it when people use that phrase as an excuse and license to say whatever non-constructive foolishness they assume is relevant.

  • What do you think would happen if the lady who made those negative comments saw this vid? You are so eloquent and spot on with your thoughts and points.

  • @iamsillywarm

    Thank you :-)

I don't know how she would feel about it, and I can't be too concerned about it. I can't change anyone's mind who doesn't want it to be changed, and I won't try. I'll state my thoughts and feelings and leave the rest up to them. I made a few comments to her and it was like talking to a brick wall. I even asked why she bought into the notion that black hair is inferior, and she just giggled it off and never answered me. It really is a mind thing.

  • I really don't know why we break each other down because black is beautiful. We're so different from others, and other ethnic groups LOVE our skin and hair. My friend was in class combing her hair and all the Hispanics had their eyes wide and wanted to touch it because they were so amazed. I don't know why people think they can't "pull off" natural hair. it's NATURAL. I really wish the Black community will stop making excuses from the past & move forward too.

United we stand, divided we fall.

  • Its sad that yet another thing has found away to seperate the black culture :( I can sadly relate to this

  • I feel you in this video! It always astonishes me how so many Black women are so defensive about their hair. I have said it many times. My decision to wear my hair natural should not make other women feel the need to get defensive. If you know the risks of relaxing and still choose to do so that is your right but I choose this path. I feel your frustration. I pray for the day when Black women will work more to support each other.

  • tyrone and kiesha nem lol

  • And touching on your other note, black ppl are the ONLY ppl that ever said anything negative about my afro when I had it. Everyone else had something good to say.

  • Your question is one I think about all the time. Why the hate? Especially within ourselves? I think that the hate for nappy hair is a step away from saying "I can't stand dark skin". It's annoying..ppl can front and say "its just hair" but its soo much more deeper than that.
