This is one of the best songs I've ever heard, it really paints the picture of the worn out parts of New York, a simple man staring by the window, hearing honking taxis, just drinking his beer, two lovers running by in the streets. Life is such a good thing, I love it, so many things to do, see and hear. I don't understand bored people. But I ramble on, this is just a great song.

Of course nobody sounds at the age of 60, like they did when they were in their 20's. But waits can still sing with a fairly clear voice - an example would be the song "All The World Is Green". Or listen to his cover of the Teddy Edwards song "Little Man". You'll hear from those that while his voice has aged, he is able to sound much less gravely than he does most of the time.
