In 1970 The Spinners released "Message Fram A Black Man" which should have been a very big hit for them but Motown never promoted the single, this song is all Pervis Jackson with a lil GC Cameron doing lead as well

  • Excellent. The only people who have a problem with it is the folk who don't know nothin' about the Black experience in America. Truth is hurt many folks feelings.

  • The Spinners - [Complete Motown Singles 10: 1970 CD1/6 #015] Message From A Black Man

never released on CD? oh, right....

  • Try THE WHATNAUTS' version--It's dark n' spooky!

  • I'm not front I love the temptations version but the spinners version is just as great and can't understand why Motown wouldn't wanna promote this cut. And even more strange has a history promoting a song more than once with different artist but the spinners version maybe unknown but to me it's a instant classic, I love it.

  • grovy grovy man, acid kickin in..

  • Responding to the viedo,is that Eddie?

  • Funky!

  • If I had to pick which version of this song was best I would have to rank the Tempts first, Spinners second, and Whatnauts third.

  • I have the Temptations' version on "Puzzle People" - bought it when it was out. And, frankly, I can see clearly why the Temptations' version was the one selected for an album. Their version - more intense - really believable. This version is sort of bubble-gumish by comparison.

  • @tremyap LOVE IT!!! XD
