  • Please call "soccer" football. Only people from the USA call it soccer. It's the most popular sport in the world. In English it's called "football". In Spanish it's called fútbol. In French it's called "football". In German it's called "fussball". In fact, all of the Roman Alphabet using nations call it (more-or-less) football. It's only the USA. Come on guys.

  • Sorry, but the Spanish didn't arrive in Brazil. The Portuguese colonised Brazil. That's why they speak Portuguese in Brazil. The Treaty of Tordesillas, signed by the Pope on 7 June 1494, divided the newly discovered lands outside Europe between Spain and Portugal. That's why one half of South America speaks Spanish and the other "half", i.e. Brazil, speaks Portuguese.
