Origin (Short Poem + Prose)

This is an OLD poem of mine; written about the world I grew up in and I figure, where I'm "originally" from. It's the world I would often retreat to as a kid, when I was bullied, felt anxious or just bored. My home away from home, and the place from where I believe, we ALL originated from, and have long since forgotten...

(incidentally: "Alone" isn't necessarily a negative word;)

I've been meaning to edit and upload it for a while now, finally got to it! Hope you like it, and if you have a child who is a daydreamer, don't discourage it, instead, explore it and figure out together, how to make some of those dreams come true...

Origin
=======

I've had these wings
since my birth

I used them,
to fly over playgrounds.

To create palm treetop hideouts
and summit vistas.

From long car rides, everywhere
in sight was accessible.

The sunset,
mine to enjoy alone.

Alone,
towards lovely hues of pink, orange and red.

Alone,
towards the fading sun with a grin.

Alone,
towards my place of origin.
