Islam doesn't tolerate rape or rapists, if a person is caught and convicted of rape they can face the death penalty, yet all the US and UK do is re-invent laws to try and decrease the ever increasing problem which they face and it seems to be increasing since people have lost the morals which they once had due to religion e.g. England used to be more Christian "used"

So many people are sitting ducks for religious preditors. Just like sexual preditors they prey on the week-minded vulnerable members of society. I'm not singling out muslims. They use the same tactics as all other religious and cult recruiters. This is such a shame. Religion is just another way to control, manipulate and dupe these poor bastards. They say that sunlight is the best anti-septic. The light of reality, reason and logic will shine on the vile infection of religion.

@somethingdiffereable Thank you for commenting, i would suggest that you watch a few of our debates, since well you have not proven to us that you follow a far superior way of life or thinking? Science doesn't teach you morality - democracy doesn't give you the best form of government e.g. 20,000 women are raped every year in America yet such a powerful nation boasts of "Modernity"

@QuranTafseer Rape and murder are far more common in religious countries than in Atheistic ones. I wasn't sure if you knew that. I'm an American and it is a fact that rape and murder are far less common in western industrialized Europe. Rape and murder are far more common in most predominantly Islamic countries too. This is a fact. Not an opinion. It is also a fact that repression, sexual or otherwise breeds this type of behavior. Americans are guilty of this too.

Its sad to see that an educated person can just type away? Are you just stating that of memory or actual facts? I will give you an example from England a person raped an elderly lady in her 80's and kept her captive but the UK let this person free after less than 4 years,

in america the rate of Rape has increased from the 1990's, every few sec a lady is raped in America, also 80% of rapists which are relased are likely to re-offend.

@somethingdiffereable Hello, regarding your comment, you must have studied Islam Christianity and Judism in depth and have deep intelligent arguments with references to all 3 religions for you for just dismiss these religions with great confidence. To dismiss something as myth then one must be able to prove othewise and you must be able to counter all the arguments in the Holy Quran.

Many "muslim nations" deem it impossible for a man to rape his wife, which combined with the widespread practice of child marriage in the middle east, skews all attempts to give proper stats. Many women who are raped in the M-E may be accused of "adultery", so few dare go to court with the matter out of fear

The problem with statements of that nature is the very fact that Islam indeed does give religious sanction to such actions: It's simply that it either isn't considered rape, or is considered justified.

"One may do as one pleases with that which belongs to ones right hand", and throughout the Quran, not to mention the hadiths, there are many instances of slaves being sexually abused with the verbal blessing of Muhammad.
