AH DAMMIT. Some idiot I've been involved with told me I was the Catherine Zeta Jones to his John Cusack when I asked him if he was scared of me. I had to look it up. HA. This actually really fits the bill. How unfortunate.

@xxmrrickxx Well, just so you know, Narcissistic Personality Disorder was never really taken seriously and is being removed from the DSM. Its symptoms are applicable to most people (especially college students, for god's sake) and is usually diagnosed by the hopelessly embittered-cum-armchair-psycho
logist. The traits you're ascribing to Charlie could just as easily apply to Rob.

The character of Charlie is the archtype of Narcissistic Personality Disorder. This is such a difficult pathology to describe and this movie does a great job. In her world, people are objects for prodivding fuel for her ego. Since most people have a limited capacity to supply this, a replacement is always in queue. She will provide just enough affection in return to keep her needs flowing. These things drive the self doubt that Rob expresses, and he reacts by giving more!!
