Didn't see any turkeys, but we brought along this joy-toy, and we were soon consoled. The Galil is an improved version of the AK-47, with a much better, I like to say "tighter" bolt design. This is to keep debris from entering the action, causing it to jam. To my knowledge, all Galil's are chambered in the 5.56 NATO cartridge, but many consumer-market ones are chambered in the .223 Remington. However, one can fire .223 through a 5.56, though it can get risky the other way around, sometimes.

  • The reason I have this camo on is because we were actually on a turkey hunting trip, and before we left we decided to play with this thang. :)

I have actually bulked up a bit since this vid was shot, too, lol.

  • I would recommend it, haven't had any problems with it; it works the way it was designed to. The ONLY thing I wish were different about the way it's designed is that the bolt doesn't stay open when it's empty. That makes it tougher to clean than an SKS or an AK, but it's not that bad. It has worked just the way it's supposed to, lots of fun to shoot. These things are so popular so I hope you find a place where they're not out of stock.

  • the redneck camo doesnt fit the galil

  • aint nothin like my imi galil arm .308 but its still nice

  • @ljonesvc Century Arms never will, .308 parts kits are almost impossible to find.

  • kid need to gain some pounds to shoot it lol

  • I'm totally getting one of these for my birthday

  • Some Galils are also chambered in .308, but in the US you'd have to go after an earlier importer like Action Arms or Magnum Research to find them, and those are megabucks. I don't think Century Arms has .308 Golanis (yet?)

  • @jpxpert What does having the bolt stay open have to do with it being easy or not easy to clean? The AK's bolt doesn't stay open either just like the Galil.

  • Have you had any major issues with your Golani? Century Arms has a reputation for shoddy work, but I've heard good things about this gun. I'm considering getting one in the future, do you recommend it?
