There are many ways of maltreat, such as bullfighting: that's real torture. Bullfighting is the kind of thing we should worry about, not this.
Sure these horses could (and should) be branded otherwise but this is how horses are branded almost everywhere in the world and it's not as horrible as it may look. It's 50 minutes of fear once a year and these horses live better than the average. Moreover trimming their manes is meant to reduce the dammage caused by parasites.

its ok to shear their overgrown hair but dont chop it mane off! and brand it! poor guy and thier is a more humane way to do this!

Was soll den bitte der Mist, wilde Pferde zu fangen und ihnen die Mähnen, die sie als natürlichen Fliegenschutz brauchen, abzuschneiden?? Mal ganz abgesehen von dem enormen Stress, dem die Tiere ausgesetzt sind. Und der Verletzungsgefahr einerseits bei den Stürzen, aber auch wenn die Herde in so engem Gebiet in Panik gerät..Was für Menschen sind das?? Verabscheuungswürdig.

das tut im Herzen weh sich sowas anzusehen wie manche Leute mit den Tieren umgehen.... das haben sie nicht verdient.. :(
