In September 1989, a Partnair Convair 580 plunged into the sea just off the coast of Denmark killing all 55 people on board. Due to the use of non-genuine spare parts, the bolts joining the tail section to the fuselage failed in flight leading to a catastrophic structural failure.

So why is it that the airplane model shows and aircraft with Turboprops, but the sounds are those of a radial engined aircraft? Was this a Turboprop conversion, or was the aircraft an original radial powered 580?

Originally this Convair 580 was a Radial engine but through it's lifetime it had been converted to Turboprops.
