Here's another short video of the popular big belled Djalu yidaki being played, a steller instrument whether being played traditionally or in a contemporary style.
This time the yidaki is being pushed by the very talented Sandy at the DHRF on the Isle of Wight (big thanks to Gerry!). Sandy is famous for his unique and fast playing style, which has inspired many players over the years. Sandy teaches didgeridoo and can be contacted via his own website http://www.didjeridu.co.uk
We have about 200 yidaki in the Aboriginal Arts Didgeridoo Shop and I might be willing to let this lovely big Djalu go now... So give us a call or send an email for a visit - 07966 889 676
Sandy is giving a London workshop on Sat 5th December 2009, see website for details...http://www.aboriginalarts.co.uk/events_workshops_sandy.htm

  • @Cre8iveSignWorks Thank you :-)

    cheers

  • Thank you :-)

  • Wow, I love this style! This is amazing!!! ^o^

  • great multi-rhythm technique

  • Nice one Sandy !!

  • ty. My advice: Don't think about it too much. When you get to the point where you can get a 10/15 sec long drone without taking a breath, you're nearly there. Also, get used to keeping your mouth on the mouthpiece when you stop to breathe.

  • amazing! i need to learn the breathing technique. but find it soo hard anyone help?

  • wow. i can see i am a trainee
