The specifications of the competition were for a video explaining 'why I love Kent Uni.'
It's a shame janguv that u seem not to have enjoyed your time at Kent as much as we did. But the video above doesn't anywhere claim to be "the majority view." It is subjective, as all reviews are. Everyone has a different experience. Some hate, some love.But waffle1963 is certainly right to point out that Canterbury is full of interesting ppl.

Well, after watching the Konkerbury video (and the excellent Geoff Island one), I'm pleased tthat there are some less sycophantic videos. You cannot deny though that UKC really does love and encourage this sort of video through their courses. What were the specifications for this film competition?
Also, reeling in the 'subjective' line clears nothing up: of course it is. However, films like this falsely give the impression that they've captured the majority view (as objective as you can get).

@janguv - This video is not "highly distorted," it is merely subjective. Remember that it WASN'T made by the University. It was in fact made by 'The Bakery' who are perfectly happy to criticise and satirise Kent University - as seen in their piss take video for "Konkerbury University" (search for it) which mocks Kent's other promotional material.
Prospective students are indeed wise to get a variety of views. But believe me: Canterbury is certainly NOT lacking interesting people.

This is a well-made video, but it presents a seriously distorted picture of UKC and Canterbury as a whole. It's a perfect university for some people, but for others it lacks a decent nightlife, affordable living, or interesting people. For prospective undergraduates - try and speak to a number of current students before buying into the marketing hype that UKC are throwing your way; it is not half as rosy as they'd have you believe...
