Well, slaying is a misery business I'm sure.

Sony Vegas tells me that there are 109 episodes used in this video. If we include a margin of error, considering that I may have missed a few slays here and there (I was very thorough though) then we can deduce that there are between 107-112 episodes of the Buffyverse (out of 254) that contain an on-screen vampire dusting. There are also definitely more than 200 dustings, and I remember reading somewhere that each slay cost around $5000 to create (don't take my word for that though). So if we multiply those rough numbers it turns out that over the course of eight years, 20th Century Fox spent over $1million on vampire dustings alone. I don't know what I expected, but that number seems pretty high (if it's even correct).

Anyway, enjoy.

  • Wow, just watching the sheer amount of vampire dusting makes me realise just how important Angel and Spike were. All those other vampires didn't really get a moment's thought when it came to staking...

Great video, you used the clips well.

  • @PsychoMidgeX Haha, that is exactly what I thought when making it! Buffy could have slayed them any time and they would have been gone forever. It's weird when you think about it like that :P

  • sorry but i love Buffy very much but i didn't watch all of the seasons so why do they call it buffyverse?

  • @charmedcaster15 Because it's Buffy and Angel. Buffyverse is just short for the Buffy universe, which includes everything that is canonically related to Buffy.

  • Amazing! This probably took forever to make.

  • @TheMusicFreakof2010 Not as long as you might think. I know the shows (particular Buffy) very well so searching for the actual dustings wasn't so hard. It took me about a solid day of editing and then a couple more days of tweaking to finish (one of the benefits of using a complete song and no dialogue or external sound when editing, it goes much much faster).

  • 1:10 I really love the "spin-dusting" Faith (in Buffy's body) does in the episode "Who are You".
