that would make street racing much easier
-
because the drivers will floor it the second the countdown hits zero, which is dangerous because there could be a red light runner or a pedestrian still crossing the street

I've seen these traffic signal timers in Chongqing, China. Very cool, I think.

Fuck that, I drove in DC a few years ago and the traffic ciricles were miserable. You can have them.

The paradox is that these are used in Taiwan, where it is especially dangerous to be a pedestrian! Red-light running is fairly common.

same in Tbilisi. Greatings to Estonia ;-))))

@MrTard I think you should look up a video on the roundabout in paris that goes around the grand arch..... what do you people say? yae or nae?

just because it counts down doesnt mean you are going to floor it. It also would help stop potential red light runners because it counts down the length of green light so they would be able to tell from a distance away whether or not they would be able to make it.

The traffic lights in Chaiyi City no longer do green light count down, cuz the Taiwan government says green light counting are dangerous!! that sucks
-
we need these redlights on ALL american roads which currently have a red light!

I live in Canada. In Canada is different traffic lights.

traffic lights suck, roundabouts are much better at keeping the traffic moving. there is a set of lights right outside my work that cause huge hold ups! if it was a rounabout there instead it would be less of a nightmare. Plus Roundabouts dont need electricity

They're fine on quaint little side streets, and perhaps even on slightly larger thoroughfares, but I doubt a roundabout could function on 5-lane each direction Taiwanese road like this was on.

Where was that? That is actually a pretty good idea! We have this in America, but only with the pedestrian signals which are usually insync with the road lights.
