Jersey Interstate Rain

Driving east on I-78 in New Jersey, the sky opened up. Luckily there was not much traffic. Even I slowed down to 45MPH but I did not run my emergency flashers as other idiots did. I saw a couple people driving about 20, 4 way flashers blazing and a white-knuckeled, death grip on the wheel. Frightening!

Do you realize why people use their flashers when its pouring rain? It helps keep people from slamming into you and no it's not illegal.

Not sure I agree with you on this. Emergency flashers should be used for emergencies. Rain, is not an emergency. My feeling is that if you feel it is so dangerous to drive that you must run your flashers, perhaps you shouldn't be driving?

i would have my flashers on but not be going more than ten under the speed limit, because after that you just become more of a danger unless everyone else is going like 20, but they obviously werent

Not sure but I think uless you are going under 40 or have some kind of emergency, it is illegal to run your 4-ways. I think it is very distracting and unnceccesary.

there are no laws about using emergency flashers in any states!!!
