Safety precautions:
The reaction should be conducted under a fume hood where excess hydrogen gas can be escaped.
When the balloon is lit, it should also be in a fire proof safe and controlled environment. Be safe!


Reacting Zinc metal with hydrochloric acid (3.0 M) in a single displacement reaction to form hydrogen gas.
