After watching this news report, how could anyone associated with the Seminole casino in Tampa not have known this woman was a gambling addict? It is impossible to conceive that an individual could lose $250,000 in a day at the casino...$14 million over a period of time... inside the casino without the casino knowing full well this woman was a gambling addict. The argument that "no one made her do it" does not hold water. Someone who is an addict, by definition, has no free will.
@Assilem30 Not true! You can win at slots if you have the right system. I used to lose money at them, but now I've learned the secret of slots to win money. I'm going to be a millionaire soon. If you want a piece of the action, message me and I'll take an investment. My system is foolproof. Vegas is scared to death of it. It can't lose!

The sad thing is that it doesn't matter how much money a person wins. If an individual is a gambling addict, eventually they play all the money back. The addiction of gambling is not about the money, its about the "play" and staying in the action of the game. This is the reason why gambling addicts cant keep the money that they win.

250K a day?...Lord...smh...She had to be playing $100 spins @ max!...I seen a story like this on "LifeTime"...Delta Burke plays a woman who got in over her head...finally winning a big jackpot and losing it ALL back!..("Going For Broke!")..,,In the movie she goes to jail also. Gambling is not a sport to play with (excuse the pun), Those of us who do it and keep our noses above water do so by..treading lightly, because we have seen the light EARLY!..Be smart,ONLY take what you can AFFORD to lose!

It's not that hard to lose that much money playing slots. You can play slots all the way from penny slots all the way to one hundred dollar slots.

This makes me sick but totally believeable. I am attending my first GA this week before my own problem gets out of hand. I pray I can overcome this illness. Its called chasing losses. I have to fight temptation everyday from a local casino and the state run lotterys and number games.

Casinos love to give big jackpots away. They know they will get the money back, it just takes time.. 99.9% of gambling addicts start out with a big win, I was one of them.. Before I won, I never really played much, and would be upset if I lost $70 and not return for months. Then I hit a couple big jackpots and I was hooked and looking for that winning "high".. I ended up losing everything I had, and nearly my life.

We are all human and the worst that can happen to you in a casino is winning. I never won a lot so I got 20/20 hindsight and I would take the money and run. I'm not sure what I would do if I ever hit the jackpot for real.
BTW: what woman is not alone. Many winners do the same. ^^ read again.
