*Note: The reason for the title is that prior to this video, this glitch was, as far as I could tell, undocumented (meaning that no magazine or web site had published or recorded it). So in effect, I have the first claim to having discovered this glitch, hence the title is labeled "...Never Before Seen..." I will not change this. Those that complain about this should make a video of a glitch they discovered, and then they can put whatever title they want for their video. Further whiners will be directed to this description box or will be ignored.

The glitch happens because of the lift with ropes in the previous screen causes the game to think that bullet bill is a lift as well as an enemy.
この裏技は、前の画面のリフトが弾丸を踏み潰した時、ゲームが弾丸がリフトだと思うことからできる裏技です。

Recieved feedback and confirmed that it does work on Snes (All Stars) version as well as the Gameboy and Wii Versions.
これは、ファミコン、スーパーファミコン、ゲームボーイとWii Console のスーパーマリオのどれでも出来る技です。（確認者は、ビデオを見た人がしました）


This trick was discovered back when I was living in Japan and about a year after SMB1 came out (1985). Only my close friends have seen it prior to this video...This trick has been done on both the US and Japan NES, and as far as I know, can be done on all 3 spots on the platform I stood on to do the trick. Many people consider this as a glitch. What no one knows is that it is not a glitch. This was actually Bullet Bill's strategy to keep Mario away from the princess while Bowser was getting his hammers to attack him in the castle. Bullet perfectly disguised himself as a platform to trap Mario. Through when Mario got in the castle he beat Bowser even when he was throwing hammers at him like crazy, Bullet Bill's plan worked! IT WORKED!
