@keytoothed omg why did you say that to me? I went back and read that I'm totally fucking freaked out now. I have a total psychosis. I wish I knew at what point it started. I really think that it has a basis in logic but that it branched off into a misfiring and I think YOU'RE RIGHT, this is what I've been trying to relay. You do not take your part in this seriously. You fucked with me on myspace, that's the only explanation for this. I have every right to make your life miserable, but I WON'T.

The simple version of what they said:
First man: "Freaks" is one of the greatest films of all time, because it breaks all of the rules.
Second Man: MGM (Metro Goldwyn Meyer) wanted to produce monster films and Irving Fallburg(?) who was the head of production there, thought that MGM would produce the best horror movie of all time. They let Tod Browning in on the project.

They actually said very little about "Freaks." Just that MGM wanted to make the ultimate horror movie and gave Tod Browning the job.

Lon Chaney playing Dracula? That would have been interesting.
Maybe in some ways it could have been special. As great as he was,still there wouldn't be the authentic foreboding command of the role like Lugosi.

Tod Browning was an emotional wreck during Dracula, and his DP ended up directing the film, Browning was so deep in his nervous breakdown. TOD BROWNING DID NOT REALLY DIRECT IT. His DP did.
