correction; jazz actually blossomed in western europe, before the wave came back to america.... miles; dexter gordon; and so many of them had to travel to europe, bluid a fan base there before they were even taken seriously here in America.
I do agree with you in the bases that most the jazz from in not all of them were created in America....

@pillaisachin im also sorry that my ancestors were idiots and couldn't coexist with the rest of the world becuase they were stubborn morons and couldn't respect other people. I have the belief that even though people may have cultural diffrences, that we should all recognise that everyone has the chance to be sucessful and anyone can make music, art, and anything else that comes from the soul
Creativity is the defining quality of humanity. Jazz and the blues were born in Africa. They flourished in America and Europe only because of technology. But when the transplanted musical forms were brought back to Africa, they were given new life. Many of the contemporary African blues artists hold their own or surpass even the greatest of American or European artists.
Geography and the inability to trade ideas with other cultures, not a lack of sophistication, is what limited Africa.

Jazz, Salsa and Reggae they are all from West Africa guys. NO wonder Hancock and the rest had to visit West Africa. If you want to improvize, don't look down at the musicians of West African oringin or Africa in general. YOu'll just have to ask the cubans and the brazilians on that if not Hancock and the rest.
