@jondill 33 here. almost exactly as you described. people always told me it was either alcohol or food poisoning. but almost always it is stress induced. lack of sleep and overexertion physically will also trigger my bouts. they are awful, painful, and make my brain feel like I am am hallucinating.
I have been having this problem since I was 16 and it would happen on and off. Im now 32. Initially I thought it was alchohol related. But after I quit drinking It continued to occur. Then I thought it was certain foods. The last 5 times may have been induced by anxiety. I have a doctors appt this friday and I hope that the doctor will listen when I tell her it may be C.V.S.
@cindy1000000 My doctors say it is from either too much THC making you sick or the all of a sudden stop of ingesting THC which the doctors say makes you violently ill. I laughed at my doctor, told him to read my chart. It clearly said that I have been having the vomiting episodes since I was 7. Cannabinoid Hyperemesis is Just another name name for REEFER MADNESS or evil weed etc etc etc. Total BS. An excuse to write down in the charts & stats that MJ has caused another suffering Human Being.
I to was told that my symptoms were from Cannabinoid Hyperemesis. I told my doc that I use weed 2 stop nausea and vomiting, he instantly told me that it was caused from the weed. Typical response. Hears weed and OMG the sky is falling you need help. I told him to review his notes. He then remembered that Ive had this since I was 7. I now have a script for Marinol that works for me BUT When I have to, I smoke a small amount of marijuana when I get into my nausea fits and cant hold down the pills.
@loked2thebrain I'm really sorry to hear about that. Excitement is a large factor for cvs, while it does not trigger my episodes, hormones do, and since I'm still young, I get episodes because of them. Food triggers are also a problem for a lot of people. Since CVS is related to migraines, check out some migraine triggers. One book I like is called "The Migraine Brain," it really helps you understand it. I'll message you some more info.
@HearingEveryRhyme yes, i have not smoked for 1 month and 2 weeks now....they diagnosed me with cvs about 2 months ago...they removed my gall bladder before they diagnosed me...ive been getting these episodes for 4 years now...been smoking marijuana for 5 years...but strange thing is it ony used to happen when i would get really mad or when somthing really dramatic happens in my life...but now it happens out of the oardinary...the last time i got it, it lasted 2 full weeks and i lost 20-30 lbs
@loked2thebrain Have you tried to stop consumption for a while to see? I'm not assuming your an idiot, I just want to help. When did you develop your CVS, how often does it manifest, and doe sit manifest right in the morning?
There have been cases of cannabinoid hyperemesis. Any one who smokes doesn't want to admit that it may be the bud that is causing their sickness, just like someone who drinks might not want to admit that it may contribute to their depression. I got CVS when I was 9 lol.
