This was Sovina's first time at the beach during August 2009. It was about time I took my own horse than my client's horses to the beach. We went to Del Rey Beach in Gearhart, Oregon near Seaside, Oregon USA. Sovina is the 1st imported Sorraia breed from Portugal to the USA in 2000. He has 12 offspring on the ground, one is out of a Lusitano mare. He just LOVES the beach and the waves! It was 91 degrees at the beach, we had a blast!!
Oh, her tail is gone... :(

Sovina broke his tailbone as a yearling a few mths after I imported him. Vet put tail splint twice and Sovina will not leave his butt massaging alone (that is how he broke his tailbone) which rubbed his splint off crooked. When the vet came out again to reset it, vet discovered an infection set in the tailbone and his tailbone had to be removed to prevent bone infection from spreading which resulted his tailbone being removed. He has a 6 inch tailbone now. At least he is alive!

Thank you! Sovina is a he. His breeder Jose d' Andrade in Portugal named him in the Portuguese version of Sovina, not the Spanish name for a girl. He is 15. hhs.
