The Future World Brass was a high energy brass and percussion ensemble that performed at EPCOT from 1982-1992. The group played arrangements by it's own members and featured a lengthy list of very talented musicians over the years. The following video showcases the group in it's final version. My name is Don Sanderson. I played percussion in the group from 1988-1992. Dave Westerskov, the group's leader is the MC introducing the tunes. Enjoy this classic Disney group.

  • Great :)

Aint this the same as future corps?

  • No, Future Corp was a drum and bugle corps styled group and Future World Brass was a brass band using trumpets, trombones and sousaphones. The two groups played on opposite sides of the park every half hour.

  • ah.. okay! tnx :)

But future world brass stopped with performing way before future corp dit right? why?

  • The company choose to let go of one of the groups due to budgets. They chose to keep Future Corps and get rid of FWB.

  • too bad! well eventually FC had to stop as well.. will something comparable ever return?

  • The closest thing is the Mainstreet Philharmonic playing at Magic Kingdom. I play in that group as a sub currently. A few of the old FWB members are in the Philharmonic.

  • I prefer future corps, there's nothing like the punch of an all G hornline.

  • Man, if they still had this at D-land, THEY WOULD PROBABLY BE A FAMOUS AS BLAST, lol
