Liberty Twp Fire Department assisted Findlay, Ohio during the February 28, 2011 flood. This flood was caused by 2 inches of rain combined with melting snow. Liberty twp. responded to 9 water rescue calls. Other departments involved that evening included Findlay, Arlington, McComb, Vanlue, and Liberty. Allen Twp. (North of Findlay) assisted Vanlue with a water rescue on the 1st of March. Findlay, Ohio is prone to flooding because the city was built in a valley (much like a bowl). This is the 5th flood in Findlay (3rd major flood) since the 2007 flood that flooded 1/3 of the city.

Findlay was divided into two sections (North of the river and south of the river). A flood central command was established. When calls were received, the rescue would be relayed to a staging area, the officer incharge would then assign a team to respond.
