Off the back of "My Oh My" and "Run Runaway", Slade managed to reach #92 on the Hot 100 with "Slam The Hammer Down", even though the single was only available as a promo to radio stations! Very few songs manage to do that.

This should have been the second single release from the album. I was a bit disapointed when Slade didnt open their set on tour with this belter in 1983 as it sounds so much an opening number to me. When I would go to see them during the eighties I would dream for weeks of the songs from their back catalogue that they might play such as Do the dirty, one eyed jacks, the bangin man, burning in the heat of love and this but sadly they rarely varied their set. Anyway they were the greatest ever.
