I love it when people don't believe me! In the notes for the True HD 1080p video of the double-headed Big Boys, I mentioned that either one of them could easily haul the entire train by itself. Of course, I got an email saying that there was no way that could be. So, here's a video of just one of the MTH Premier Big Boys hauling an even longer train made up of 54 AtlasO woodsided reefers and a caboose. The only reason that there aren't more cars is that the Big Boy is pretty much chasing its own caboose. If I had a larger layout, it could haul a lot more cars. This is the first Big Boy that MTH brought out and was converted by me from PS1 to PS2. As you can see at the end of the video, that conversion extends to the auxiliary tender, which I remotely uncouple from the train using DCS. Please visit my web site -- http://www.toytrains1.com -- for lots more videos and photos of both real and model trains.

  • @mrodriguez4829 U mean the front set of drivers? those move on the real engine buddy.

  • i can see my butt lol nice loco. :D

  • Beautiful engine but I have always disliked the way how O Scale requires the front pilot to move to prevent knuckle bind-ups. The 4-8-8-4 has always been a tremendous locomotive and a beautiful one. Nice work demonstrating.

  • can you do a mixed freight ?

  • @simhopp Lionel is doing that with the Milawakie S3 with Legacy the Drabar skiers itself automatically.

  • too much distance between loco and tender makes O scale look unrealistic.

some one should create coupler box system that lengthens as needed to negotiate the curve, and shortens when its on straight section.

  • I had an old Athearn dd40ax that could pull cars around a 4 1/2' X 8' with the tail of the caboose just 4" in front of the nose of the engine. Strongest one I ever saw.

  • I'm surprised people said that it couldn't pull that much. I have a 1997 Railking allegheny, a railking Cab-forward (both still have PS1) and a Lionmaster Bigboy. All 3 of these engines could haul 85 cars up 4 percent grades by themselves.

  • going way to slow makes it B O R I N G!!

  • where can i find one of these? for how much?
