the car is fast bet its got 425hp plus, i have a 69 caprice but it's a 350 with 350hp i think thats fun, i can only dream 427 can you say tire smoke!

no... it's got the 390 hp. there were very few made with the 425 horse.

it's rated for 390 hp. but i think the car makers back then only rated them at that to let them sell. i'm sure it has alot more than that.

i have a project im workin on right now. its a 1991 toyota pick up that has a V6 right now but i ripped out the V6 it came with and im shoppin for a 350 small block or a 286 small block. gonna bore it out to a 396. so it'l be a 1991 toyota pickup with a 396 smallblock v8 with a turbo 400.(hope it fits)ill try and make a video of it when im done.

if you're interested i do have a 350 bored out .30 over 383 stroker that came out of a 69 chevrolet. and along with a 700 trans. complete with edelbrock carburator. let me know if you're interested i can email you some pics. just a thought.

Did you floor it? It moves slow. And the sound is distorted. Sorry. I like the Impalas. Had one 69 before in 1975. 350/350/12 hooker headers,cam, dual exh,4 barrel. It moved.

@AIRPLANEMAN1965 In any other high compression car, I would call it possible pre-ignition; but the way this hammers this one, I'll bet it's a wrist pin or a rod bearing getting ready to go - or - it could just mean it's out of oil because it was low before he took it on this romp and what little was in the pan is hangin up in the valve covers making the bottom end starve.

I had a 67 SS427 when I was a kid and I ran it hard against a lot of fast cars, but I respected it and it never failed me.

Nice. I too have a `69 427/390hp 4spd Impala. Mine's a bench w/few opts; G80 (3.55), M21,F41, Tint, AM & PS........and needs a full resto, but low mi and #'s match......it's for sale:o). Go for a ride in my `67- not hard to find, YouTube 427 M22 and listen to it whine:o)

My car was just like this when my friend bought it, I got to drive it twice I believe then he parked it. You can check out the pics on my progress of the car back to original status minus the 4 speed muncie transmission.
