A brief collage of black history in America. Yes, there is an image of Che in this collage, simply because he continues to inspire many American thinkers and because he was about what he believed.

The conclusion of this clip contains an excerpt from on of Malcolm X's most famous speeches, Ballot or the Bullet. I find it fitting for our society.

The music in the clip is the song "Freedom" from the Panther soundtrack. Vocal artists on the song include: Chantay Savage, Tanya Blount, Aaliyah, Mary J Blige, Queen Latifah, Zhane, Patra, Meshell Ndegocello, En Vogue, Monica, Chantay Moore, TLC, Tyler Collins, Karyn White and many others.

  • this is retarded. im not racist because we are all ONE race but i just wanna say i think its about time you forget about the injustices done... should there be a woman history month? a white history month, an asian history month, man history month etc. jews have been slaves, indians have been slaves, asians have been slaves, there isnt a cutlrue on the planet that hasnt been at one point. why do "black" people feel the need to rub it in everyones face. the world is an injust place, NOT just to u

  • @Alkhemist10 -would your "get over it" concept also apply to Jews "getting over" the tragedy of the Holocaust, to Americans "getting over" Pearl Harbor, to the Native Americans "getting over" EVERYTHING that was done to them in the name of American greed & so on?? That would be CRAZY! The fact is is that our presence and our history MATTERS and the more people like you try to force us to believe it doesn't, then that's when it becomes an issue.

  • @Alkhemist10 -no one is rubbing anything in anyone's face. It's too bad your guilt makes you feel that way. Additionally, social injustice to black people--since this is the topic of your erroneous comment--occurred way past slavery and still goes on today and as a black woman, I have the GOD GIVEN right to care about my history and whatever connects with my soul. You or no one else can take that from me or anyone else. So YOU need to get over YOUR ISSUES WITH RACE

  • What is the name of the track that is playing????? I've been looking for it!!!

  • @Papillonmuscogee -Freedom, from the Panther soundtrack

  • @Alkhemist10: No we are not one race. Black folks have to teach their children and their children teach their children about slavery and the civil rights fight. It is as important to us blacks as the Holocaust is to Jews. Get over it, hell no, if you do not know our past, you sure as hell cannot know your future. Black people need to continue to celebrate their pride and remember the past. How dare you tell us we should forget the past? Hell no, we will never forget. Black and proud.

  • @Alkhemist10 I agree with you.. there is no woman history month etc. but this clip is not only about slavery as you see. you are right that jews have been slaves too.. where did a lot of them escape to? the USA.where they didnt get the same treatment in Europe. where could black people escape to? Nowhere.. because they met the same treatment in Africa. have Asians, women, Indians have had CENTURIES of the same cruel type of opression? NO. so that is why there is a black history month...

  • @Alkhemist10 how could you tell someone to get over it, oh we're ALL ONE race huh... tell that to your friends, parents, family members, the kkk, etc who go out of their way to cause strife for black people. whether you want to believe it or not white people have caused obstruction and life long crises for everyone from black americans, native americans, jews (who were white) and africans so it will be a while before your stupid hippie talk will get us anywhere

  • @flair777ytube Amen! :D

  • Say it LOUD - "I'm black and I'm PROUD!!!"

  • for Janie! rock on baby! Scotland forever! be proud.
