Don't stick your knifes blade into the ground, its terrible for the edge.

@daiaonu Thanks for the reply . I want to start camping with minimal supplies..like every week take something away so that info will help alot Thanks again

@daiaonu once it begins to dry split it up into the fibers then continue to let it dry. once its fully dry you can blow any ember to flame with it. after that its just like starting a fire with a match

@XxdmanxX01 if you mean how do you start a fire with no supplies you are going to have to use friction, the bow drill or spindle method are some of the easiest. if you need a string for the bow you can use part of your shirt or pants and twist it to make it stronger. once you have an ember built up you need tinder to put it in and blow it to flame. dry tree bark works great, try to find a tree with smooth bark and peel off a piece, let it dry in the sun or next to your body

Good vid but what if your stuck in the woods and u lost your supplies what do u do.

awww cmon. he may not know how to make a properly contained fire but he sure looks cute doing it lol.
so you can carry around a flint striker in that bag but you couldnt put a lighter in it? - try it with friction dude - real primal

@crownvvc4 if your lighter were to get wet it wouldnt work, flint and steel works wet, dry, hot, cold, whatever

i want to try make a fire with a bow and a stick ..whats the best kind of wood to use....like can you use anything once its bone dry?

@signedryan for the base board any hard wood like ash, maple, or oak would work but has to be extremly dry. (every survival guide iv ever read says the friction fires are extremly unreliable and should be a last resort) buttt... hardwood base with a soft wood spindle, nothing resinous like pine tho. and the bow can be any strong flexible wood like birch or willow
