Choo Choo Charlie Williams performs the U.S. National Anthem at the Reading Phillies baseball game on July 17, 2009. This may be a first where a harmonica player has performed the Star Bangled Banner at a professional baseball game. I did see that Frederic Yonet performed the National Anthem at a NY Knicks pro Basketball game.
Please note how people sang along - really touching. Video recording was not clear (old camera) hopefully better next year.
I wish to thank Greg Delapp and his company Carpenter Technology Corporation for inviting me to play the National Anthem on my little old harmonica for this Carpenter Saturday night ballgame. This was fun and a real honor and I have to admit I was nervous.
Many years ago I used to play high school football under the lights at this very same stadium athough the stadium has been totally remodelled and only is used for baseball. For many of us growing up in the area this is where we went to see our first professional baseball game. The Reading Phillies are a farm team of the Philadelphia Phillies. Hopefully be back next year.
