Attaching light emitting diode products to the spokes of bicycle wheels is good for safety, also festivities. You may have to retrofit them using imagination and even a little packaging tape. Some lights are designed to clip on your belt, but you can tape them to the spoke with clear plastic tape. There are also some products designed for spokes, like Spokebrites, if they still make them. Be creative and visible. If a car sales lot is all lit up, even when cars are just parked, we can be lit up enough for safety. Christmas lights, disco lights. Let's be flamboyant.

  • Good point about blue lights possibly being illegal in some areas. No one seemed to mind them as they weren't real bright. Maybe they were just glad my bike has lights. Batteries have gone dead on the colored lights so I just use red blinkers now.
