Part 2 of the extensive DVD feature about one of the most iconic master luthiers and "inventors" in American Guitar History, Rick Turner. Rick has built guitars for some of the most famous guitarists of all time. He has also worked very successfully as manager of the R&D department of guitar companies like Gibson. See a part of Rock'n Roll history and enjoy Rick, Henry Kaiser and Bill Walker. This is GOURMET GUITARS ® at it's Best! Tastefully filmed and edited by Holger Obenaus. Comments and ratings are highly appreciated! Thanks. ;-)
We made a lot of great music too, including quite a bit of original material with themes around Antarctica, though mostly form the view of someone actually living and working there. Titles like: Be careful What You Wish For ... You Just Might Get It! A song about securing a contract to work on the Ice without actually realising what you're getting into. Good fun stuff.

A bit of a laugh to think of a guitar made specially for Antarctica. I can understand the concern over dryness and cold but I've done 28 months on the ice including two winter-overs (back in the early '90's). We always had a great musical community down there and none of us worried about custom made guitars, basses or whatever.

The construction was featured in a "Fretboard Journal" article.
