Technology can be addictive. In a tribute to Allen Ginsberg's classic 1956 poem, we created a short film lampooning the addictions of our generation. It's narrated by Peter Coyote.

The filmmaking team behind "Yelp: With Aplogies to Allen Ginsberg's Howl," also made the Sundance documentary "Connected: An Autoblogography about Love, Death & Technology."

We have the feeling we need to unplug because we need community. We must use the internet to create community again. Using collaborative consumption and ideas like a gift economy we can come together like never before. Look people in the eyes more. Listen to them speak. Hear their ideas. Don't just wait to talk. Plug in to unplug.

So yeah... I hope when the shit hits the fan here real soon, that many U.S. Soldiers will be on the side of the resistance. I personally know 4 that will, 3 marines and a grunt.

I can respect and agree with that. The oath that soldiers take starts with ""I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code" --Foreign AND DOMESTIC.

Soldiers support the dominant power. Usually, the dominant power doesn't give away rights unless it has to. I have no problem with soldiers engaged in defending the country, unfortunately, that's not the situation with regards to modern wars. That's why those hippies complain. And the soldiers are just as responsible for that as the politicians. It is not bravery to follow orders if they're wrong. Brave people fight against them.

Well, say what you will about the war(s), but when you say "fuck the soldiers", I must say, go fuck yourself and get the fuck out of the country that many soldiers died to help create. You do not deserve any rights that so many have died to protect. I hate the war, but I will ALWAYS thank a soldier. Always.

And without soldiers, there would be no war. I hate war AND soldiers. Fuck the army.
