maya 2011 hotfix2 crashes on me all the time now when trying to save. I just started with maya and im almost finished with this room ive built/. once i start doing ipr renders, it either freezes up when i try to close the hypershade, render window, or i try to save. the spinning ball goes on for ever, and the program is non responsive. I am using a student version also. If anyone can help, please do.

I think it could be a graphics card problem

We have iMacs everywhere in my school for students to check e-mail, browse, etc. We also have some Dells. The iMacs used to constantly crash. They just put Windows XP on some of them, I guess it's because they kept crashing.

If you fill your Mac with useless shit like games shitty programs and you totally FUCK IT UP it is completely normal for it to crash, because it is owned by an owner who is violent to his Mac-pc-just like me, I have fucked my pc now it needs format

@alkoia No...its two companies actually trying to accuse the counterpart of being responsible for the error! So when After Effect crashes Adobe says its Apple´s fault and Apple will say it is Adobe´s fault.
It obviously was a openGL problem which was solved by apples fix then...so there was no shitty software or game causing this crash!

ever since i upgraded to 10.6.4 i keep getting gray screens (i.e crash!) firstly i thought it was steam but no. Looks like apple might have fucked up a liitle

@daM1NT3 did you install that fix that is mentioned a couple posts lower? You might wanna do that. Grey screen sounds more like a kernel panic crash. Maybe faulty hardware?

@dererce well truth is im not on a real mac but instead a pc with osx installed, trust me its much cheaper than the real thing and now i can program iOS apps and use the better CS5 Master collection for mac. I found a solution to my problem on the insanely mac fourms, looks like some un-needed kexts and a bios setting. So i excpect no more panics (btw i'm so used to calling it crash on windows that only now i learned that it was called panic). Thanks anyway :)

@daM1NT3 Yeah..Ive heard about that installing OSX on a Windows machine but I always thought it would not work due to the bios. Its definitely way cheaper. Glad you fixed your problem! :)
