Note how he talks about a "movement" and then talks of social justice issues. I think this man is not a man of God but a man of the people. Even I am leary of saying I am religious. It is so misunderstood, however, do not misunderstand me when I say, I cannot believe that God intented for a man to be with a man and a woman to be with a woman. Maybe with all these civil rights that are coming into being we will be seeing two men wanting to be with a woman, or visa versa.

"Not that kind of Christian" well, I think he panders to those who don't want to follow Christ, but those who follows the god of this world. "Justice for all" does not come before the ten commandments.

It's good that God has (supposedly) so much love for us. After all he has to make up for all the hate of his followers for everybody who is not them.

Jacqhollen, I know Gene Robinson. He's a man of God and all I can say is may God have greater mercy with you, a sinner just like everyone else, more so than the mercy and grace you have refused to show here. The same sentiment goes for all of those with a judgemental and a self-righteous attitude on this page!

To deny the historical accuracy of the gospels demonstrates your dutiful attendance in the public school system. His existence was acknoledged by both the pagan and Jewish critics of his day and the subsequent centuries. Critical theory was introduced over the past 150 years due to the awareness that the masses had been dumbed down enough to believe fables such as evolution and global warming. Furthermore if belief in God ceases does that prove He does not exist? Poor logic.

Your religion is wrong anyway. The story of jesus was just that, a story. Christianity will cease to exist in my opinion 60 years or so from now and another religion will take it's place. Looks like Islam is gaining... Uh oh you right wing christ lovers better watch out.lol

Somewhere along the line, Bishop Robinson lost the faith, trying to mix Christianity with homosexuality. Especially when he decided to wear a bulletproof vest. He needs to realize that these two (Christianity and homosexuality) do not go together. I'm not perfect myself (I ask for forgiveness regularly) but there is a difference when he is accepting to live in sin. I'd like to tell Bishop that he is heading for the wrong direction and taking others with him in the process.
