i have both [and are one of the main jailbreakers the brought the "open endedness" to the iphone as well as am beginning to discover the capabilities of the g1 and they have many more difference than similarities to be compared.. those doing so do not know much about what goes on behind the scenes sort of speak

I completely agree with you. However I would have to say the G1 is more of a separate category.

I hate how everyone says that the G1 is an iPhone killer, but the iPhone is way better, period. End of story
