Karina Petroni, Born in the Canal Zone, lets you see a touching slide show on how her parents met, lived an Escape filled life and moved to the Panama Canal Zone. Karina was born and grew up in and around the tropical jungles and beaches of Panama but the US Government illegally gives away the Canal Zone and the family moves to Florida in the year 2000 where Karina goes on to become a professional surfer. In 2006 her fathers almost dies from a brain hemorrhage, but her family helps dad to recover with the help of dads go for broke attitude. Dad's passion and unending love for his family carries over into the lives of everyone around him.

The journey continues to help dad become his old self again, where the family can continue to travel, on an Escape Around the World.

  • 8:50 Never quit.

  • What a super video. She has quite a story. :-)

  • When I first started watching the video, i felt a bit jealous of the lifestyle and enviroment where u grew up. By the end of the video that was forgotten and i got jealous of the way u see life and how u "never quit". I wish i could be a bit more like u, become stronger and have the will to change my life the way i want it to be. I think u and ur family are role models and i loved the video and how it inspires. I wish u and ur family the best!! pura vida! - Sol, from Argentina

  • Uplifting video. I'm also a CZ brat from 1965 through 1972 when I graduated from Balboa HS. My dad was also a pilot, and oddly enough, was also the navigator on the SS Independence, the sister ship of the SS United States before he became a pilot. I currently live in the Philly area, where I can see the SS United States docked at the piers. Unfortunately, it's not in great shape. I'm assuming your dad was Kings Point grad like mine. Glad to see you've followed your heart.

  • Beautiful!

    Never Quit!

    ¡Arriba Panama!

  • Never Quit! greetings from Panama

  • Hi Gerry! God it is good to see you and your family in this video doing so well! Gerry I especially, this Thankgiving season want to commend your truly heroic effort...by you and your family who stood fast and with you and helped you regain, retrain, regroup, right! Like a good tough Airborne soldier that you were and a fine Naval Officer in service to our country in Panama and elsewhere! Congrats and truly a "job well done" Gerry. Th Viking in Panama..Hooahhh!Airborne, All the Way! Doug Olsson

  • I agree with the message of his, and im very impressed of his courage, But the only part I disagree with is the way you call your birthplace a "junglehome" it makes an impression that Panama is a not civilized country. My respect for your dad

  • Hi Karina,I was very moved by your video, specially since I had the honor to know your father and also had the great opportunity of working with him as a Panama Canal Pilot. I also express my sadness for his illness since I'll always remember him as an almost perfect man, physically and mentally. As I remember many anecdotes about Captain Petroni I would say that quitting was never an option for him. It's a proud video about a great man, God bless and good sailing. Capt. Peter Pusztai

  • Jimmy Carter SUCKS!
