Gripping documentary about the darkest day in NASCAR history. Includes interviews with Richard Childress, Michael Waltrip, and Ken Schrader, who spoke publicly about that day for the first time.

  • In my mind, this tragedy was the beginning of a year of tears. First we lost Dale, then the events of 9-11, then the crash of the jet into a neighborhood in NYC. 2001 was the worst year ever.

  • sadest part b4 dale's deat was hearing Darrell say "I just hope Dale's ok...I guess h's alright isn't he" Darkest day in motorsports hstory

  • Such a sad day I remember that day vividly i thought when they went off the air that he would be ok, then when sportscenter had the ticker on the bottom of the screen that read "Nascar champion Dale Earnhardt dies at Daytona 500" I cried because my hero was gone.

  • Damn these onions.....Still remember this race like it was yesterday.

  • @nappa666 marlin raced for ganassi not yates

  • i am crying from this from 2001-12 11 years ago i hope they do something for dale sr today i love dale famliy kids RIP #3 DALE

  • I can still recall when I personally heard the news he'd passed. I wasn't really a huge fan of Earnhardt's yet I knew. Without him, the sport I'd revolved my life around for so long, would never be the same. The event's of that somber day have changed almost every thread of who I am today. I for one tip my hat to you, in thankfulness to the sport you made me love.

  • they did do somthing to these cars witht he 2 car tango but you know what

people bitch about that too so now where back to this pack crap.

  • Its horrible, nobody deserved this to happen. Earnhardt died doing the one thing that he never did, and that is let someone else win. If I was Marlin I wouldve probably plowed through him trying to get past.

  • I still remember the day detail for detail and the most memorable thing that I can remember was right before the race began, Dale and Teressa prayed together then kissed each other just before Dale got into the car. That image still haunts me to this day.

  • The good of that day was that Waltrip won the 500, the bad news was that we lost a driver that is intimidating, aggressive, and and as a hero. RIP The Intimidator Dale Earnhardt 1951-2001 :(

  • @driverkid09 won't we all..........
