Final Fantasy Legend III: How to beat Xagor at level 13 TAS (Tool Assisted Speed Run)

The strategy is to have two party members defend two others so that when Xagor casts Flare, which could annihilate the whole party in one hit except Borgin, only two will die. Even still, Flare is absolutely devastating to the party and each time Xagor casts it I'm forced to start my recovery strategy where I can't attack. If Xagor uses Flare too many times in a row you will lose, but that has a pretty low chance of happening. Borgin is usually defending because his hp is high enough to withstand any attack including Dk-Force, or using Cure3 because his speed is so high that he can go first a lot of times. Also, the entire party uses Diamond shields to become strong against lightning while Borgin has the Aegis, though it isn't necessary to give him the Aegis.

I used a VBA to speed up my selection of commands in each round because there's no point in waiting to see what I select; you can just see what I do in the round anyways. Nothing else was manipulated, like what Xagor does or looking to see what he does in the next turn. If I did either of these things, this video would be MUCH shorter because I wouldn't have to defend every single turn.

As for magic and items, Arthur and Sharon have LifeA and CureB, while Gloria and Curtis have LifeB and CureB because you can't get more than 2 LifeBs in the game. I used 5 Elixirs, 2 Cure3s, and no nuke bombs during the run. I realized after I made the movie that Borgin's Magma would have done a bit more damage than White after Xagor gets the holes in him but it didn't matter that much anyways, and most likely not even at all.
