This is what a Cycletote Touring Model bike trailer looks like with the bag removed. You can use it for hauling almost anything like this. this is the 48" long version.
you need a mountain bike to pull trailers, mine has a 32 tooth rear sprocket and a 24 tooth one at the front for ending up with a 1.5:1 final gear ratio, yes i have a recoring of the trailer ive had since i was 14
I think you could carry more weight on that than 250lbs. I think you could reduce some of the material in it to carry that weight. Of course shaving 5lbs off a 250lb load isn't all that useful. However it would be nice for when you pull it less loaded. Nice frame, good welds!
