Alopecia: Alopecia areata (AA) is a condition affecting humans, in which hair is lost from some or all areas of the body, usually from the scalp.Because it causes bald spots on the scalp, especially in the first stages, it is sometimes called spot baldness. In 1%--2% of cases, the condition can spread to the entire scalp (Alopecia totalis) or to the entire epidermis (Alopecia universalis). Conditions resembling AA, and having a similar cause, occur also in other species.

HELLO MY CHILD HAVE THIS ALSO AND SHES ONLY 6YRS.OLD I CRY EVERY TIME I DO HER HAIR CAUSE IT COME OUT SO BAD I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THIS UNTIL I TOOK HER TO THE DR.I JUST WISH THERE WHERE MORE WE COULD DO TO PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING GOD BLESS EVERYONE THAT'S GOING THRU THIS ALONE.

@REDALUVINHIM well if it makes you feel any better it got worse after i shot the video but a couple of months later and i have all my hair back :) just loosing my beard now >_> but that seems to be growing back as well ...slowly

We must keep moving on with our life's its just hair that is falling off, at least we dont got life treating disease.. By the way is there some ways to make the hair grow again, something that can be bought a store.??

@MARLENE7LUNA nothing that I know of i had gone to a dermatologist, there the doctor recommended steroid shots or an ointment the doctor has to prescribe it though.

I know it sucks. I had it since 2003, took about a year and half to grow back. Now I am having it...........it sucks.......but you're not the only one..........keep fighting man........reply with your rountine of treatment.......

@c4snipar well i started using something called Clobetasol (i think its some sort of steroid ointment) for about a month my hair did start to grow back very little though I stoped using it for about 2 months now and my hair is actually growing back a lot, most of it is white hair though.

I've had alopecia since I was 10 I'm 25 n honestly rogaine works for me even as a child it did but when u stop using it out comes the hair. It's no cure but it does grow your hair back. Hope this helped

Oh my god I have been just told yesterday that I have a bold patch at the back of my head!

I cut my hair today and folks I have Alopecia Areata!

I am shocked! I have never had any problem with my hair and I am 36 years old male!

I have still hair and did not get bold with the age!

That is why I am shocked now! I cant believe it!

So please let me know what should I do now?

Is this getting bigger and bigger or?

Now its about like a coin 50 Cent or so at the back of my head!

U guys are lucky i've had I since I was 10 in now 25. U could imagine what school was like. I still have to wear hats everywhere I go
