just to tell you all wondering:

there is a Flail, because we just didn´t have enough Pikes etc... ;)

My answer to riot control:

pike squares (tercios) armed with pike-length cattle prods

& some embedded "musketeers" (for plastic/rubber bullet and tear gas).

Result: very unsuccessful riots.

@crapatev currently the shield wall is a good enough tactic especially for a simpl reason... only riot shields are REALLY capable of defending a policeofficer against thrown items, and pike length cattle prods is a recipe for disaster, i could easily imagine some nut running and getting near impaled or getting face jabbed by one. the riot shieldwall is a much more passive method, the baton charges (akin to spanish rodeleros with terget and side sword) are the agressive arm of riot control
