The Magnificent Seven is a 1960 American western film directed by John Sturges about a group of hired gunmen protecting a Mexican village from bandits. It is a remake of Akira Kurosawa's 1954 film, Seven Samurai.

The greatest western score in the history of film. I still can't believe that Ernest Gold won the Academy Award (for "Exodus") over Elmer Bernstein. Wonderful graphics on your posting, by the way, and thank you very much for your posting...

O what a great piece of music, it captured the spirit, the battle, the epic times of the American West, how special this was, for all others were judged against this one, and it is still the King of the Heap!

Ich gebe zu, das der Film mich bisher nie sonderlich begeistert hat. Auch wenn die Vorlage dazu Kurosawa's "Die 7 Samurai" entlehnt ist. Aber was diesen Soundtrack anfgeht, immer noch Gänsehaut pur :-))
